CIPP AND TUNNELING EXPERT SAK CONSTRUCTION
ADDS THREE TO BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling services contractor adds
Lane and Wassam in Colorado; Burtch in Missouri

ST. LOUIS (May 10, 2011)---SAK Construction, a national pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling services contractor with projects in 23 states, has recently added three new staff members to its business development and marketing team:  Joe Lane and Matt Wassam in Colorado, and Carrie Burtch, at SAK’s national headquarters in O’Fallon, Mo. SAK provides specialized, high demand services ranging from large diameter tunneling to the full spectrum of current trenchless or “no-dig” technologies, including CIPP (cured-in-place pipe) pipeline rehabilitation.

Lane, who is based in Denver, has been named SAK’s business development leader for a cross section of strategic markets, including the energy, oil, gas and mining industries; federal agencies; and key municipal markets and accounts.  Lane has previously held several senior management positions and brings to SAK more than 20 years of experience in the infrastructure rehabilitation industry.  He has managed business units exceeding $100 million in annual revenue across the U.S. and has participated in and led some of the largest infrastructure upgrade programs in the nation.

Wassam, based in Castle Rock, Colo., has been named SAK’s business development leader for the municipal water markets.  He has been involved in the pipeline rehabilitation industry for seven years and has been instrumental in some of the nation’s largest trenchless water rehabilitation projects.  Prior to joining SAK, Wassam served as national sales manager for a major pipeline rehabilitation firm.

Burtch has assumed the role of SAK’s sales and marketing coordinator. She is responsible for pre-qualifications, city and state licensing, and marketing support projects.  Burtch, who has a decade of previous experience in marketing and business analysis, most recently worked as director of proposals and marketing for a facilities maintenance and management firm.

SAK Construction (www.sakcon.com) is one of the fastest growing, privately held pipeline rehabilitation and tunneling contractors in the U.S. Clients include a variety of city, county and state agencies; industrial sectors; municipalities; and water and sewer cooperatives coast-to-coast.  Recent SAK Construction contracts include two major projects for the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (the $9.178 million rehabilitation of Old Mill Creek Sewer and its connectors, and the 2,300-linear-foot, 96-inch diameter Coldwater Relief Tunnel rehabilitation); a $31.9 million, 3.5-mile Downtown Wastewater Tunnel for the City of Austin, Texas; a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) project for the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles, Calif.; a CIPP sewer rehabilitation for the City of Phoenix, Ariz., totaling more than 120,000 linear feet; and a $3 million CIPP project for the City of Chattanooga, Tenn. SAK  is also a contract partner of Choice Facility Partners, a Houston-based nonprofit cooperative purchasing organization serving government entities nationwide.
